Taking Fanfiction to the Movies

Taking Fanfiction To The Movies

Still in the mood for fan fiction, but you'd rather
watch something a little more cinematic? Here's a few
movies I've seen where I could've sworn the producers
took plots from fan fiction and brought them to the
big screen.

(in alphabetical order)

Angel Eyes
rated: R
starring: Jennifer Lopez & James Caviezel
Was it the accident that brought these two together?
Or was it fate's way of giving them a wake up call?
Sometimes we can find our own guardian angels in the
most unexpected places...

The Bodyguard
rated: R
starring: Whitney Houston & Kevin Costner
Rachel Marron is a threatened pop singer at the height
of her career. Frank Farmer is a no-nonsense bodyguard
who's just been hired to protect her. His #1 rule?
Never mix business with pleasure. How well do you
think he's gonna do?

Coyote Ugly
rated: PG-13
starring: Piper Perabo & Adam Garcia
A young songwriter moves to New York to be discovered.
On her struggle to fame, she gets hired at a bar where
the bartenders do more than pour drinks--they dance on
the bar! This movie is so much fun, just go rent it
and you'll see why this is so close to fan fiction!

Down to you
rated: PG-13
starring: Freddie Prinze Jr & Julia Stiles
"First love. We've all been through it. It can take a
hold of ya...make you do some pretty crazy things..."
Al & Imogen go through all the stages of being in love
for the first time...but will they know how to make it
last?

Fools Rush In
rated: PG-13
starring: Matthew Perry & Salma Hayek
Sometimes protection doesn't always work. ;-) Watch
how these two go from having a one night stand to
coming together in a way that neither expected. Was it
the baby that brought them together? Or something
more?

Notting Hill
rated: PG-13
starring: Julia Roberts & Hugh Grant
The story of what happens when a celebrity and a
working-class person fall in love. C'mon, how could
you NOT think of the Boys in this one?!

Olive Juice
rated: PG-13
starring: Leighanne Littrell & James Berlau
Yep! Leighanne's movie made the cut! It's a really
cute love story between a beautiful woman who's
already engaged and a dorky-yet-lovable guy who owns a
doggy bakery. Shot on location in Orlando. Bonus
points: AJ McLean & Brian Littrell both make cameos;
AJ as DJ Naughty and Brian as a horse-and-carriage
driver-in-training.

Rock Star
rated: R
starring: Mark Wahlberg & Jennifer Aniston
Do you know everything there is to know about your
favorite band? Ever wished you could ever tour with
them, or even be a part of the group? If you answered
yes to either of these questions, then check this
movie out. Obsessive fans will definitely be able to
relate!

Sweet November
rated: PG-13
starring: Keanu Reeves & Charlize Theron
He's a corrupted business man who does nothing but
work. She's a free-spirited woman with a positive (and
fun) outlook on life. In one month, can she help this
man be a loving human being again?

A Walk to Remember
rated: PG
starring: Shane West & Mandy Moore
I know, I know, this movie was a book to begin with!
But it's a really cute story of when the bad boy falls
in love with the good girl. You're guaranteed to be
crying by the end. P.S. Check out the book too!
